Should you buy an iPhone XR even in 2021?
Apple released the iPhone XR to the global market on October 2018. So it’s been out for more than two years now. Let’s talk about how iPhone XR is the one to buy in 2021.
Even today, the iPhone XR can easily compete with its rivals and it is a truly great smartphone for the price. iPhone XR is not even a budget smartphone, and there are lot more smartphones better than this, both Apple and Android. But you should consider about paying more for those phones when you can buy a quite good one for a fair price.
How good is it?
The iPhone XR comes with two different storage versions, 64GB and 128GB. This smartphone has a 6.1” Liquid Retina HD display with a resolution of 1792×828 at 326ppi. Many people will think that the pixel density is not enough when comparing to the other Apple phones. Those people should keep in mind that the iPhone 8 has the same pixel density and it looks great. The resolution is not 1080p but it is bit close to it. So the quality of the images you see through this display is very good. This display is the main reason for the considerably low price of iPhone XR.
The basic front look of the iPhone XR is very similar to the latest iPhones. The curved edges, the bezel is quite the same. One can say the XR was ahead of its time because of this particular fact. Like most iPhones, the XR is available in six (6) different colours. Those are (PRODUCT)RED, Yellow, White, Coral, Black, Blue. The body is made from Aluminium and that is a small disadvantage because the Aluminium body always tries to slip through your pocket whenever it gets the chance (a back cover will solve the problem).
The battery of this phone is just 2940mAh and the RAM is just 3GB. It’s fine though, the XR is equipped with a really effective A12 bionic chip so the phone will work really smooth. The battery and the RAM is just enough because there is less things to handle with the display (because of the low pixel density). So I can say the battery life is quite impressive.
The next noticeable thing about XR is it has a single camera setup on its back and there is no ultra wide. In the portrait mode this camera AI is only able to focus on a person and cannot do on an object but you can record videos at 4K quality. Overall the single camera is still great because ughh… it is Apple.
The iPhone XR is IP67 level water resistant rated. This can go as deep as 1 meter up to 30 minutes.
What is bad about this?
The main problem with this is the display. It is not a OLED one, it is LCD. The really low pixel density could bother someone who look for precise details in their phone. We can’t really blame Apple because their display reduced the price tag considerably and helps to increase the battery time. the next thing is the one that almost everybody hates. The camera setup. As I have said above this is a great camera. Since lots of people are interested in Apple’s telephoto lens and ultra wide lenses it is a really big issue and clearly disappointing.
How is this the best Apple iPhone to buy in 2021?
First of all it is cheap! If you are not willing to spend some serious money on the latest iPhone, you can go for this. All the issues with this smartphone is easily ignorable.
I mentioned above that the Aluminium body is somewhat slippery in several situations. So I have to suggest you some solutions for that.

Despite that, this case provides good protection, good grip and nice, coloured buttons.
